The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services-Calgary Zone and the University of Calgary invite applications for a Fellowship trained General Surgeon with subspecialty training in Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery to work at the Peter Lougheed Centre. This will be a locum position covering the practice of a general surgeon on leave from September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020.

The successful applicant will be expected to fulfill the clinical obligations of the surgeon on leave including performing surgery on currently booked and new general surgery patients, follow-up of existing patients and consultation on new patients, overseeing residents and medical students and taking part in the Section on-call schedule.

Qualifications include an MD, a Fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, with additional subspecialty training in Upper GI and bariatric surgery, and eligibility for licensure in the province of Alberta.

Must read, write and speak English.
