Alberta Health Services Central Zone is seeking a dedicated, confident, team-oriented radiologist with additional fellowship training in Musculosketal Radiology. The successful candidate would function as a general radiologist with special interest and expertise in their area of fellowship training. Roles will mirror the practice of current CAMIS Rads which will require expertise in radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine. The candidate must be able to perform minor interventional radiology and MSK interventional procedures.

Procedures include:

Spinal intervention:
Spine biopsies
CT guided nerve root injections of the cervical/thoracic spine
Fluoroscopically guided facet joint injections of the cervical/thoracic/lumbar spine
Medial branch blocks and RFA ablations of the cervical/thoracic/lumbar/sacral spine
Ultrasound/CT guided soft tissue and bone biopsies of the axial and appendical skeleton
Osteoid osteoma ablations
Full range of ultrasound-guided MSK procedures including the following:
Dupuytren's contracture/fibromatosis aponeurotomy and release
Paratenon stripping and tendon fenestration
Full range of ultrasound-guided pain procedures

Available Specialty Services (full-time and part-time):
Orthopaedic Surgeon provides and has a pre-op clinic, full day of surgery and post op clinic every second week.

A full time General Surgeon is on site that provides services including appendectomy, colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures.

Radiology Services:
Diagnostic Imaging
Ultrasound
Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Laboratory Hours of Operation: 24 hours

Kidney Dialysis Unit on Site: Yes

Cancer Treatment Services Available on Site: Yes

  • Diagnostic radiology with fellowship training in MRI, ultrasound and MSK radiology.
  • Expertise in radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, minor interventional and MSK interventional procedures
  • All physicians who wish to practice in Alberta must hold a valid and relevant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, or a valid Notification of Eligibility Letter from the CPSA

Physician Agreement Incentives

This Position is Fee for Service

Medical Liability Reimbursement - reimburses physicians for their medical liability protection costs less a $1,000 deductible.

Continuing Medical Education - reimburses physicians for eligible continuing medical education costs. Each eligible physician receives a $2,500 annual allotment which can be carried forward for up to three years.

Parental Leave Program - provides $1,000 per week for up to 17 weeks to physician parents of a newborn or newly adopted child.

Business Cost Program - addresses escalating practice costs in community based practices. This fee modifier is added automatically to select office visits and consultations. This program applies across the province and all physicians who provide visit services in an office based setting will receive an additional $2.75 with the exception of Calgary and Airdrie where the fee modifier is $3.25 on select office visits and consultations.
