This role provides leadership, in collaboration with the Site Lead of the Hospitalist Program at FMC to the members of the Hospitalist Team for professional matters relating to quality medical services including, but not limited to, education, quality improvement, and patient safety and participates in periodic reviews processes applicable to the Hospitalist Program at FMC. This position will also assist with the orientation process of new physicians.
The position also provides essential support to the involvement of the program in Zone Quality Improvement and Patient Safety initiatives, in collaboration with the Site Chief at FMC as well as participates in the investigation, review, and resolution process of patient concerns related to the Hospitalist Service at FMC. Additionally, the position acts as an essential communication channel between physicians, the medical leadership team and operations team.
The Deputy Site Chief is also essential to the coordination of regular monthly Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities for the team members, assists in the coordination of resident rotations and student electives as applicable, and will act in the place of the lead in their absence.
The leader also collaborates with other physician leaders to develop, implement, and evaluate models of medical service care delivery at FMC that are instrumental to the excellence and quality of care delivery.
