Alberta Health Services in partnership with the University of Calgary invites applications to join the Section / Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) at the Foothills Medical Centre to commence April 1, 2020

Position Profile:

Clinical GIM (55%)

- most responsible physician (clinical teaching unit and general medical unit)

- consultant in hospital, clinic, and telehealth settings

Education (40%)

- Course Chair, UME

o curriculum development

o course co-ordination and management

o oversee student evaluation

- UME education delivery

o simulation-based education

o bedside teaching

o small group and lectures

Research (5%)

- education research

- MD, FRCPC (General Internal Medicine)

- fellowship or equivalent in simulation-based education

- must be eligible for independent practice in Alberta

- record of scholarship and excellence in teaching

- record of scholarship in quality, safety, health outcomes

- record of innovation in education delivery

Must read, write, and speak English.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.

The Practitioner is responsible for purchasing health and insurance benefits.

Continuing Medical Education reimburses physicians for eligible continuing medical education costs. Each eligible Practitioner receives a $2,656 annual allotment which can be carried forward for three years.
