The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, the Cummings School of Medicine, University of Calgary is actively recruiting for an obstetrician in the Department.

South Health Campus (SHC) is a Level 2 and the primary site for these three recruitment positions. There are approximately 3 000 deliveries per annum at our site. This position requires practice in obstetrics only but a medical/office and on-call gynecology practice will also be supported at the request of successful candidate(s).

Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone serves a population of ~1.3 million people. Calgary is a vibrant city close to Banff and the Rocky Mountains. The Zone includes presently 5 urban hospitals (South Health Campus, Foothills Medial Centre, Rockyview General Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre, and Alberta Children’s Hospital), urgent care centres and a variety of community and continuing care facilities.

Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta is required. Candidates must have their FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and as well preference may be given to a candidate with Royal College Subspecialty Certification, special areas of interest would be considered an asset for this position. All candidates will be required to have clinical academic appointments with the Cummings School of Medicine University of Calgary. Additional areas of focus or training applicable to the obstetrics and gynecology (eg Pediatric Gynecology, Leadership/Administration, Medical Education, Sexual Health) will considered an asset in application.

The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Must read, write and speak English.
