The Section of Pediatric Respirology, Department of Pediatrics, Alberta Children’s Hospital, Alberta Health Services (Calgary Zone), and the University of Calgary invite applications for a 1.0 FTE position, at the Clinical Assistant Professor level or higher. The position involves 70% time for clinical activity. Expertise in the areas of pediatric sleep medicine (both clinical work including complex sleep disorders, interpretation of polysomnography, and implementation and management of CPAP AND BiPAP treatment) and PSG interpretation are assets. The remaining 30% of time is dedicated to collaborative research and teaching activities.

The Section of Pediatric Respirology is based at the state-of-the-art Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH). Service population includes the Calgary Zone, southern Alberta, southwestern Saskatchewan, and southeastern British Colombia (for a total of approximately 2+ million).

The successful candidate would join our Section of 7 academic pediatric respirologists. We are a dynamic group with strong interest in research and teaching. Our asthma clinic serves 5,000 patients. Our general pulmonary clinic treats children with a wide variety of respiratory disorders/concerns. Our complex airway clinic supports 45 children with tracheostomy and also those requiring home technology for ventilation. Our cystic fibrosis clinic treats over 140 children, and also includes an active newborn screening clinic. We also have support of a full pulmonary function laboratory and polysomnography services on site.

The candidate must hold Pediatrics certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The candidate must have at least 2 years of Pediatric Respirology subspecialty training with a Royal College accredited program.

Additional training or experience in pediatric sleep medicine and interpretation of polysomnography.

Must read, write and speak English.
