This position is open to qualified physicians with AHS privileges only. The successful candidate will be expected to hold a current position within the Section of Neonatology.

Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Section Chief, Neonatology. Department of Pediatrics.

This 0.20 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Zone Clinical Department Head of Pediatrics.

The Section Chief, Neonatology is a leadership role contributing guidance and advice for strategic planning, project development and quality care for patients receiving clinical care through the Section of Neonatology. This medical-administrative leader will work with the medical leadership team contributing to expert guidance and advice to matters within the Department of Pediatrics.

This leader position is accountable for ensuring effective support at all 5 sites for patient safety, quality management, teaching and research, promoting educational programs and developing/promoting departmental research activities for section members. The role will also support recruitment and retention of physicians to the section, liaise with other site medical leaders.

Qualifications include an MD or equivalent, certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics with Fellowship certification by the Royal College in Neonatal-perinatal Medicine, or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be a member of the medical staff in the Section of Neonatology.

The candidate must be eligible for independent Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Remuneration is in accordance with AHS contractor agreements.
