The successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills and a passion for quality and patient safety. They will be considered strong clinicians by their peers. The successful applicants will have, or be eligible for, certification in Emergency Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada or the College of Family Physicians Canada (FRCPC or CCFP-EM) and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. ACLS, PALS, and ATLS competency are required. Residents must be eligible to write the appropriate exam at the next sitting.
In collaboration with their colleagues, the successful candidates will deliver care and consultation services to emergency patients and participate in the program’s rotating shift schedule.
The successful candidates will be required to participate in the teaching program and will be encouraged to apply for a Clinical Faculty appointment in the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
