Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a Pediatric Oncologist position in the Departments of Oncology and Pediatrics, Edmonton Zone. An interest in Pediatric BMT and cellular therapies in required.

The successful applicant will join seven oncologists, four hematologists, an immunologist and three basic scientists within the division providing a full spectrum of clinical oncology services. In addition to clinical care, the Division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has a fully accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology subspecialty-training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. We have an active basic, translational and clinical science program, collaborating locally, nationally and internationally.

Depending upon the qualifications and experience of the applicant, this position will be comprised of clinical service (maximum 80%) with the remainder of time allocated to academic pursuits: either teaching and/or research. Research can be in any area within Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty.

Interested applicants must hold an MD as well as an advanced degree (Masters’ or PhD or equivalent), must have completed a subspecialty residency in Pediatric Oncology, and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Oncology). Preference will be given to those with Pediatric BMT experience.

Remuneration will depend on clinical experience and comply with the agreement between Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Medical Association. Compensation Grid Compensation range is between $318,086 (level 1) and $457,875 (level 4).
