Key accountabilities for the one position will include, but not limited to: inpatient kidney transplant service, inpatient nephrology and consult service, and outpatient service in kidney transplantation and general nephrology.

Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology in partnership with Alberta Health Services invites applications for a Transplant Nephrologist for a 2 Year-Term Fee for Service position to be based at the University of Alberta. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is Canada’s largest and only provincial health region providing services for a population of over 3 million people.

The Division of Nephrology and Immunology at the University of Alberta is a research intensive Division currently with 9 CIHR funded investigators. Research spans the spectrum from fundamental and translational work through epidemiology and health services research in general nephrology and transplantation immunology. The Division considers education a high priority and provides leadership to the educational and administrative activities of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and Alberta Health Services.

The successful candidate will be an MD (or equivalent) with certification in Nephrology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and have specialized training in transplantation.

Remuneration will be on a fee-for-service basis through billings submitted by the physician to Alberta Health
