As a member of the High River Hospital Maternity Low Risk Clinic, you are expected to provide maternity care in both the prenatal clinic as well as on call for labor & delivery. The model is a shared care, integrative model with maternity care provided by both family physicians and midwives. High River Hospital is a Level 1 hospital, with obstetricians acting as consultants and providing C-section coverage. In addition there is epidural and anesthesia services provided by GP anesthetists. The successful candidate will have an expressed interest in low risk maternity care and be committed to working collaboratively and collegially with the members of the Low Risk Maternity team, as well as nursing and other allied health on Labor & Delivery.

2-3 shifts per month (non-core member) for a one year term with the possibility of extension.

High River is located 20 minutes from South Calgary and is a vibrant, people first community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification
  • ALARM provider certification
  • MORE OB membership must be continued while a member of the group

The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Must read, write and speak English.

AHS requires proof of full immunization against COVID-19, in accordance with AHS Immunization of Workers for COVID-19 Policy #1189, prior to onboarding and providing services at any AHS facility.

Fee for Service – pooled billings split between the group members dependent on number of shifts worked.
