Connect Care Provincial Physician Trainers (PPT) are practitioner-users of the AHS Connect Care Provincial Clinical Information System (CC) who are recruited, trained and supported to develop curriculum and train peers in the safe and acceptable CC use while promoting Connect Care technologies and services for transformation and clinical improvement.

PPT responsibilities will initially be on development of Connect Care training curriculum and materials for CMIO training, and development and oversight of training for area trainers. The focus will then shift to support CMIO training for all CC implementation waves including supporting area trainers including training of SuperUsers, provision of support for training delivery, support for post launch optimization activities including input and review of training materials. PPT’s will work closely with their CMIO training team, IT and Epic partners, and clinical system designs counterparts to achieve their goals.

PPTs will be well-established physicians within the province who understand the complexities of undertaking large-scale transformational change, large-scale system integration, continuous quality improvement, and innovation to deliver on a commitment to excellent performance.

  • Partner with track specific CMIO training team on curriculum, materials, and training environment scenarios.

  • Assist with design and development of training materials with regard to the clinical or work context, or learner's role.

  • Support curriculum and materials development with input from clinical resources from all affected disciplines and program areas.

  • Work collaboratively with Epic teams to review and adapt training materials and tools.

  • Emphasize a positive Connect Care learning experience with a view to driving adoption and enhancing patient safety.

  • Develop and provide oversight for training of Area Trainers as part of the track specific CMIO training team. Area Trainers will be responsible for delivering training to CMIO trainees for all implementation waves

  • Participate and support CC implementation, upgrade, sustainability, and optimization activities as required.

  • Effective and Consistent Communication: Have a current AHS email address reviewed at least every 7 days to ensure a predictable communication channel.

Candidates must be registered or be eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff
